Places To Visit By Bus

While some places are easier to access by scooter, others are much easier to get to by bus when travelling from Taipei.  Here are a few of them.

*This article assumes you don't have a car for obvious reasons.

Yehliu Geopark

Yehliu is a favorite among tourists.  So expect big crowds and long waiting lines on the weekends.  However even if you don't enter the park there's still plenty to shoot here just by walking along the coastline.  It's a fishing village so there's lots of people to shoot as well.

Keelung City

Keelung is home to one of the best night markets in Taiwan.  To make the most out of this place I recommend leaving early and hitting up Baoduozi Coastal Park first, and then heading to the night market once it's dark out.

Bus To Keelung: #1550 From MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station.

Bus To Baoduozi Coastal Park: #791 or #1051 from Keelung Station( Ren Xiang Clinic ) to Baoduozi Bus Station.

Ping Lin

Pinglin is a nice tea village just outside of Taipei.  However if you were to go there by scooter it would take somewhere around 2-3 hours.  But because of the tunnel that runs under the mountain, buses and cars can get here in about 30 minutes.  There is a crystal-clear river that runs through the village.  It's nice to walk along the river and explore some of the tea fields and shops surrounding it.

Bus To Ping Lin: #9028 From Dapinglin Station

Wufengqi Falls

This place would take like 5 hours to reach by scooter, but the tunnel that goes to Pinglin, leads all the way to Jiaoxi, where you can find this pretty cool waterfall park.

Bus To Jiaoxi: #1572 from Taipei City Hall Bus Station
